How it works:

Libby Chair Treatment (Emsella)

The Emsella chair uses HIFEM energy to cause deep and intense pelvic-floor muscle contractions to awaken and re-educate the pelvic floor muscles—and it’s completely non-invasive.

HIFEM stimulates the entire pelvic floor area and helps with restoring neuromuscular control. A single session causes thousands of supramaximal pelvic-floor muscle contractions, which are extremely important in muscle re-education, and improvement of intimate wellbeing.

We incorporate BTL Emsella into our Libby Chair Pelvic Therapy, which also includes ongoing curated education and support from our expert team to retrain all aspects of your body to optimize and extend the benefits of The Libby Chair.

Education: what even is my pelvic floor?

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that extend from the pubic bone in the front to the tailbone in the back, and side to side at the sitz bones (a.k.a. the bony structures you feel when you sit).

These muscles form the bottom of your pelvis and are like a trampoline supporting your pelvic organs. Your pelvic floor muscles are in the shape of a triangle, two back-to-back. The triangle in the front is called the urogenital triangle (where urine exits), and the back, the rectal triangle (where your rectal opening is).

Corelife Wellness Emsella For Men Prostatectomy

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in males. Radical prostatectomy is a common treatment for prostate cancer, and results in the removal of the entire prostate gland and its surrounding tissues.

Although much needed, this surgery also happens to be one of the most common causes of urinary incontinence in men. Our goal is to help you get back to the old you afterwards.

What changes happen to my body after a prostatectomy?

In a radical prostatectomy, the prostate, ligaments, and part of the urethra are removed. In addition, many other parts that play a key role in your continence mechanisms are altered. After a prostatectomy, it’s important for these parts to learn how to work efficiently again. Your body relies on your external urethral sphincter and pelvic floor muscles to maintain your continence post-operation. The external urethral sphincter has a period of weakening due to the disuse prior to surgery when the urethra is compressed by the enlarged prostate.

The great news is that your external sphincter and pelvic floor muscles can be taught to provide support to your bladder again. Pelvic health physiotherapy and our Emsella treatment are the most effective ways in achieving overall pelvic health postoperatively.

Corelife Wellness Emsella For Men Peeing In The Night

Overactive Bladder

Overactive bladder is characterized as a strong, sudden urge to urinate that is very difficult to postpone. This urgency is caused by sudden involuntary contractions of the bladder muscle (detrusor).

Signs you may have an overactive bladder:

  • You void every 2h or less (or more than 5-8x/day)
  • You experience strong sudden urges to void that are nearly impossible to repress
  • You may have urine leakage associated with strong urges to void, or on the way to the washroom (urge incontinence)
  • Nocturia (waking up through the night with the urge to urinate)

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a common issue that can significantly impact a man’s quality of life. Fortunately, the BTL Emsella is a safe and effective therapy for men suffering from urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. It is a non-invasive, painless, and convenient treatment option that can provide lasting results without the risks and side effects associated with medications and surgery.

This non-invasive therapy uses high-intensity electromagnetic energy to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles, which can improve blood flow and nerve function in the area. Patients who undergo BTL Emsella therapy can expect to see a significant improvement in their pelvic floor muscle function, leading to better urinary and sexual function, improved quality of life, and enhanced self-confidence.

Pelvic floor health FAQ - Corelife Wellness

The BTL Emsella is a non-invasive, painless, and comfortable treatment that can be completed in just 6 sessions. Patients simply sit on the specially designed chair for 28 minutes per session, fully clothed, while the device sends high-intensity electromagnetic waves to the pelvic floor muscles. The treatment is non-invasive, does not require any preparation or planning, and does not require any recovery time. Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the session, making it a convenient and stress-free option for men with busy schedules.

What to do:

You don’t need to map out where every washroom is, restrict outings, or dehydrate yourself to avoid the need to pee. Our team can help regulate your bladder muscle and stop these frequent pesky urges to void. Our treatments include bladder retraining, urge suppression techniques, eliminating bladder irritants, pelvic floor training, and much more!

Emsella works at the level of your pelvic floor and detrusor (bladder) muscle, getting you back to sleeping through the night and controlling those urges in only 3 weeks.
